What does your shipment need?
From a full container to a small consignment: define your requirements. A suitable arrangement starts with the goods, route and agreed scope.
Tell us what your shipment needs. The scope and terms are agreed for each assignment.
Discuss your shipmentDiscussing a full container? Include the container type, loading location and goods. Weight and loadability help determine a suitable arrangement.
Less than a full container? Note the package count, dimensions, weight and packaging to discuss consolidation with other cargo.
Discuss air transport using the weight, dimensions, goods and preferred timeframe. Suitability and acceptance must first be established.
Which declaration and information are needed? Identify trade details, origin and the declarant’s role before agreeing responsibilities.
Include the journey to or from the port in your enquiry. Consider the delivery address, loading and unloading access, and recipient instructions.
Discuss the cargo value, risks and desired cover. Insurance applies only when cover and terms have been expressly confirmed.
From enquiry to delivery
From enquiry to delivery: four stages, with the documents, contact points and arrangements that connect them.
Describe the origin, destination, goods, volume and preferred timeframe. Identify any information that is still missing.
A quotation should make clear what is included, which assumptions apply and how the price is established.
Agree the booking and required documents. Record who provides, checks and receives each document.
Record where and when the goods are handed over and what confirmation is needed at departure.
Agree which milestones are followed, how progress is shared and who gets in touch when the schedule changes.
Prepare arrival, release and the last leg. Agree how receipt is confirmed and the file is closed.
About Meridian
Clear arrangements connect the customer, point of contact and operating parties. Everyone knows who makes decisions, supplies documents and follows up on changes.
The point of contact, scope of work and responsibilities are agreed before the assignment. You know who handles questions and changes.
Start with your shipmentDocuments, progress and arrangements belong together. The Meridian platform supports the shipment file; the people involved coordinate and carry out the work. Access and support are agreed for each assignment.
The practical details
Start with the origin, destination, type of goods and preferred timeframe. Add an estimate of weight, dimensions or container details if available. Exact details can be agreed later.
Yes. Share what you already know and use the notes field for open questions. Select “To be determined” for shipment size if you do not have a reliable estimate yet.
Describe your route, goods and preferred timeframe. These details guide the discussion of sea freight, air freight, customs coordination, inland transport and any cargo insurance. Options and terms are established for each enquiry.
The contracting and operating parties and their responsibilities must be recorded in the quotation and assignment. Meridian software provides support; software access does not replace a transport agreement.
This intake only asks for shipment and contact details. Share documents through an agreed channel. Do not include confidential document contents in the notes.
